One of the things I will never understand about neocons and Bush is their ability to unite under the same tent the Saudis and the hard-line Zionists. But this union has been crunbling since 2003
Who is Sami Al Arian
Al Arian is a Palestinian-American computer engineer and university professor (USF) who was arrested in 2005 for his involvement in the funding of terrorists(1)

[At USF] al-Arian established the Islamic Academy of Florida. The 2003 indictment against al-Arian says [USF] was used as a base of support for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad .. The Islamic Academy of Florida reportedly received at least $350,000 from the State of Florida [Jeb ? ]through a program that diverts State money to pay private school tuition.

Mel Martinez victory in 2004
Betty Castor had been president of the USF. when Al Arian's controversy emerged: Unfortunately there was no one at hand to remond voters of Jeb's $350,000 gift of taxpayers money to Al Arian, or of Bush's / Rove cordial invitations for Amir to join him in the WH.
In the 2004 Florida U.S. Senate campaign, former USF president Betty Castor was attacked for failing to fire Al-Arian at the time of the WISE flap. Despite her claims that, acting on the information available at the time, there was insufficient evidence to justify firing a tenured professor. The Al-Arian affair was a decisive factor in her defeat at the polls. (1)
Sami Al Arian visit to the White House in June 2001
The article below is confirmed by this WH transcript of Ari Fleischer's comments on Al Arian's son being expelled from a meeting Press Briefing by Ari Fleischer - June 29, 2001
The Terrorist Who Came To The White House
Feb 2003 - Sami Al-Arian and seven other people were arrested in Tampa last week on charges of financing, organizing, and materially abetting Palestinian Islamic Jihad, one of the world's deadliest terror groups. Islamic Jihad is responsible for more than 100 murders, many of them by suicide bombing, and prosecutors laid out in some detail the role played by Al-Arian, a professor at the University of South Florida, as the terrorists' chief US operative
A résumé like that should have made Al-Arian radioactive -- the kind of person anyone with political ambitions or decent instincts would shun. So why in the world would he be treated as a friend and ally by -- of all people -- George W. Bush?
Why, for example, did Bush make a point of posing for pictures with Al-Arian and his family during a 2000 campaign stop in Tampa? Why was Al-Arian not only invited to a White House briefing given by Bush aide Karl Rove in June 2001 -- against the advice of the Secret Service -- but honored with a front-row seat? Why was his son Abdullah invited to yet another White House meeting a few days later? And when the Secret Service properly pronounced Abdullah a security risk and removed him from the building, why did Bush bend over backward to apologize and order his security staff and spokesman to issue apologies as well?
The answer, it seems, is that Bush and his advisors have been so intent on attracting American Muslims to the Republican Party that they have closed their eyes to the fact that many of those they have embraced are Islamists -- extremists who support terrorism and are linked to Saudi Arabia's fanatic Wahhabi religious establishment.
Al-Arian is not the only Islamist zealot who has gained access to Bush and his inner circle.
Consider, for example, Abdurahman Alamoudi, the founder of the American Muslim Council, an extremist group with a record of defending terrorism and denouncing the United States. A year before the Rove briefing brought scores of AMC members to the White House, Alamoudi was one of several Muslims invited to meet with candidate Bush in Austin, Texas. Alamoudi is certainly influential -- but he is also an open backer of terrorism.
Sami Al Arian's friends in high places: Grover Norquist
On 10/23/2003 John Loftus attends Countdown with our favorite MSNBC man Olbermann (5)
KEITH OLBERMANN, HOST (voice-over): Which of these stories will you be talking about tomorrow?
Abdurahman Alamoudi, tonight the man who helped set up the Muslim Chaplain Program, who met presidents Clinton and Bush, who tried to run $340,000 into Syria, is connected to Osama bin Laden's nephew...
Joining us now, with more on the purported double life of this prominent Muslim-American is John Loftus, host of "The Loftus Report"... [John] How-what happened here?
LOFTUS: Well, you know, it's a funny story. About a year-and-a-half ago, people in the intelligence community came and said-guys like Alamoudi and Sami al-Arian and other terrorists weren't being touched because they'd been ordered not to investigate the cases, not to prosecute them, because there were being funded by the Saudis and a political decision was being made at the highest levels, don't do anything that would embarrass the Saudi government. So, of course I immediately volunteered to do it and I filed a lawsuit, against al-Arian charging him with being a major terrorist for Islamic Jihad, most of his money came from Saudi charities in Virginia.
Now, Alamoudi's headquarters were in the same place, he was raided the same day, on March 20. An hour after I filed my lawsuit, the U.S. government finally got off its butt and they raided these offices. And, the stuff that they're taking out of there now is absolutely horrendous. Al-Arian has now, finally been indicted, an along with Alamoudi, today.
But, who was it that fixed the cases? How could these guys operate for more than a decade immune from prosecution? And, the answer is coming out in a very strange place. What Alamoudi and al-Arian have in common is a guy named Grover Norquist. He's the super lobbyist. Newt Gingrich's guy, the one the NRA calls on, head of American taxpayers. He is the guy that was hired by Alamoudi to head up the Islamic institute and he's the registered agent for Alamoudi, personally, and for the Islamic Institute.
Grover Norquist's best friend is Karl Rove, the White House chief of staff, and apparently Norquist was able to fix things. He got extreme right wing Muslim people to be the gatekeepers in the White House. That's why moderate Americans couldn't speak out after 9/11. Moderate Muslims couldn't get into the White House because Norquist's friends were blocking their access.
Jack Abramoff and Al Arian ?
There are two paths connecting Abramoff to Al Arian:
- Grover Norquist / Al Arian / Jack Abramoff
-
they were both leaders of the College Republicans, who left the group following complaints of financial mismanagement (6)
- Saleh Kamel: / Al Arian / Jack Abramoff
-
Shortly after 9/11, Abramoff signed up as a lobbyist for this consortium of banks that operate according to sharia, or Islamic law.. Abramoff's job was to spread the word about Islamic banking practices and to refute claims that Islamic banks sheltered money used for terrorist networks. And if anyone needed a good PR man, it was the chairman of the General Council for Islamic Banks, a Saudi businessman named Saleh Abdullah Kamel estimated to be worth in the neighborhood of $ 2.6 billion, who was quickly the subject of intense government scrutiny over his possible ties to terrorist activity.
-
- You see, Kamel is also the chairman of Dallah al Baraka Group (DBG), which is suspected of having ties to al Qaeda and other extremist groups, and he was also the co-founder and large shareholder of Al Shamal Bank in Sudan, Osama bin Laden's bank of choice from 1983 onward. He was listed as being one of the seven "main individual sponsors of terrorism" in this report by French researcher Jean-Charles Brisard submitted to the UN Security Council in December 2002. (You might remember that Omar al-Bayoumi, who befriended and provided money to two of the 9/11 hijackers, was once an assistant to the Director of Finance for Dallah Avco, a DBG company that works with the Saudi aviation authority. And the WSJ has reported that the United States believes the Dallah al-Baraka Bank, another DBG company, was also used by al-Qaeda.)
-
- Kamel's name also appeared in the "Golden Chain," a roster seized by Bosnian authorities in Sarajevo in March 2002 listing Saudi donors to bin Laden and his associates
Getting dizzy yet ?
Me too, so I'll leave the rest for part 2:
- How Norquist and Abramoff's lobbying got Almoudi to influence the hiring of Muslim chaplains for the pentagon
- How a Muslim and Norquist plant got a top job in Homeland Security w/o qualifications
- The jewish neocons freaking out about Norquist Islamist ties
- Free Republic defending Norquist and saying they met Gannon at his traditional Wednesday's
tea with Mussolini neocon meetup
- Richard Clarke detailing Abramoff's client, Saleh Kamel's ties to terror financing
- Sami Al Arian ties to Saleh Kamel
- Kamel's $200 billion dollar Islamic investment fund
