Hillary Clinton and the poor ignored babies of the media
Hillary Clinton doesn't need the media as much as other candidates do. Combined with a long history of friction and stupid media attacks, that gives her plenty of reason to mostly ignore reporters for now while she campaigns at small events in the retail politics-heavy early primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire. We might guess that she's enjoying blowing off reporters, but whatever her personal feelings, she's executing a clear campaign strategy in which talking to reporters is a thing that will happen later. We are talking about political reporters, though, and they're creatures with a healthy sense of entitlement and a strong tendency to take their cues from Republicans, at least where coverage of Clinton is concerned.
Media outlets are debating how many reporter questions Clinton has answered since kicking off her campaign: Is it eight or is it 13?
Republicans really want this to be a SCANDAL:
And Republican wishes and media wounded pride dovetail neatly here.
Is it too much to hope that when Clinton does start talking to reporters, she does so with a series of interviews with reporters from everywhere but places like Politico, the New York Times, and the Washington Post?
